Terms of Service
These terms govern use of Pathventure by organizers, operators, and players.
Pathventure is a hosted route and mission platform. Organizers use it to build and run real-world experiences, and players use it to join, navigate, submit proof, and receive instructions during those experiences.
- Organizers are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and safety of the events they publish.
- Organizers are responsible for who they invite into their organization and events.
- Players must use the service only as part of a legitimate event or route they were invited to join.
- If an organizer is running events for minors, the organizer is responsible for obtaining any permissions, waivers, or consents required for that event.
- Pathventure is not a navigation guarantee, safety certification, or substitute for local judgment.
- Do not enter closed, private, restricted, unsafe, or construction areas to complete a checkpoint.
- Users must follow posted signs, venue rules, staff instructions, traffic laws, and emergency guidance at all times.
- Organizers must design routes conservatively and should avoid routing participants into hazardous, inaccessible, or unlawful areas.
- If the app conflicts with real-world safety conditions, the real world wins.
- Paid purchases may include one-time event entitlements and recurring subscription plans.
- Subscription plans continue until cancelled and remain active through the end of the paid billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout.
- Payments are processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe.
- Refund and credit handling is governed by the Pathventure Refund Policy.
- Organizers keep responsibility for event copy, route design, checkpoint prompts, uploaded media, and participant instructions they publish through the service.
- Players keep responsibility for photos, notes, and other submissions they upload during an event.
- By using the service, users grant Pathventure a limited license to host, transmit, store, and display that content as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service.
- No unlawful, deceptive, abusive, or rights-infringing use.
- No use of the service to plan, facilitate, promote, or carry out illegal or criminal activity.
- No attempts to interfere with billing, entitlements, authentication, route integrity, or other users' access.
- No use of the service to route people into known unsafe conditions or to misrepresent the nature of an event.
Pathventure depends on browsers, mobile devices, venue conditions, network quality, GPS accuracy, and third-party providers. Features like live location, QR scanning, uploads, and billing can degrade or fail because of those real-world dependencies. Pathventure is provided on an as-available basis, and no route or event outcome is guaranteed.
Pathventure may suspend or terminate access if use creates safety risk, payment abuse, fraud risk, legal exposure, or material harm to the service or other users.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pathventure is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for route interruptions, venue closures, weather, connectivity issues, third-party failures, or organizer-created event problems. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Pathventure may update these terms as the product and legal posture mature. The latest posted version controls going forward from its effective date.
