Start with the event shape
- Choose the template closest to the event you actually want to run.
- Set the venue, schedule window, team mode, and join code early.
- Keep the route short and clear for your first live run.
Build checkpoints conservatively
- Use GPS, QR, code word, quiz, photo, and host approval only where they help the experience.
- Keep instructions direct enough that players know exactly what to do next.
- If you add a checkpoint timer, treat it as pressure and pacing, not punishment theater.
Publish only after a route pass
- Walk the route yourself or with a test group.
- Watch for closures, construction, poor signal, weak GPS, or confusing handoffs.
- Do not publish a route you have not sanity-checked in the real world.
